Pondicherry university, home for diverse culture and tradition of India, is going to witness the greatest cultural event of the year – AARAVAM 2K19. It is conducted yearly by a team of student called “Malayali Koottayma” as part of Onam celebration, a cultural fest of Kerala. This year it is going to be a huge celebration to shrug off the frightening memories of horrendous floods that had washed away festival dreams last year and to boost the spirit of the people to recover from the aftermath. Pondicherry university with a total strength of 6000 students, has students from different parts of India and also students from other Asian, European and African countries. Out of the total student strength a humongous 65% are from the South India especially from Kerala. Onam –annual harvest festival of Kerala- has assumed a secular dimension over the centuries cutting across caste, class and religion, and people are taking part in the celebrations in unison. “Aaravam 2K19” is to be a three-day extravaganza of traditional and cultural events of Kerala. This event is an aimed to bring together the diverse population of the university and acquaint them with the lifestyle of their fellow students.
