The students of Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Sector 32, Chandigarh are organizing a workshop 'IGNITE' for the students of classes 6th to 12th. IGNITE aims at educating school children about a variety of health topics that the institution views as necessary information that a child of their age should possess. The students will be provided with a Certificate of Participation as well. The topics for the workshop include: -Basic Life Support (including CPR) -First Aid -Lifestyle modifications -Bullying and peer pressure -Balanced diet -Handwashing routine -Innovations in medicine -Organ donation The Basic life support will be taught by decorated faculty from Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH-32) , Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education & Research (PGIMER) and Government Multi-Speciality Hospital (GMSH-16) in association with the Indian Association of Pediatrics (IAP). The District Education Officer (DEO), Chandigarh has given us the permission to organise this workshop in schools. Approximately 200 students would take part in one session and we are planning to conduct 15+ sessions. Overall, we are expecting to reach to more than 3000 students.
